Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp shocks soccer world with sudden resignation, citing burnout

Jürgen Klopp will leave Liverpool FC, the English football club he has led to six major trophies, at the end of the current season, saying he's "running out of energy." After five years of struggling to compete with its bigger rivals, Klopp was hired in 2015, and the club won the Champions League in 2019. FSG recently sold a  minority stake  in Liverpool to New York investment firm Dynasty Equity, worth between $100 million and $200 million. The club is valued about $5 billion, according to Forbes, although struggled to find buyers when a full sale was considered in late 2022. "I can understand that that's a shock for a lot of people in this moment," Klopp, 56, said in a video interview posted on X on Friday.  While at Anfield, Klopp has won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cu...

LeBron James, Stephen Curry headline Team USA player pool for national team ahead of 2024 Olympics

USA Basketball is gearing up for the 2024 Summer Olympics. It announced a 41-man player pool on Tuesday composed of potential members of the final roster, which will be revealed at a later date. Team USA is fired up after an underwhelming performance at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, so the competition could be the fiercest it's been in a while.  LeBron James and Stephen Curry were among the big-time players who didn't participate in the last Olympics, but both were included on the list and have voiced interest in suiting up. Other notable names that didn't play in Tokyo, Japan but could in 2024 include Anthony Davis , James Harden , Jimmy Butler , Kyrie Irving , Chris Paul , Paul George , and Kawhi Leonard . Then there are the newcomers. Among them is Joel Embiid , who announced his decision to choose America over his native country Cameroon, and France in October. The Philadelphia 76ers star and reigning MVP could help fix Team USA's glaring weakness in the...

LeBron James, Stephen Curry Headline 41-Player USA Basketball Pool for 2024 Olympics

Ethan Miller/Getty Images USA Basketball revealed the 41 players in its potential selection pool for the 2024 Summer Olympics roster on Tuesday, with several usual suspects highlighting the roster, including LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. Defending NBA MVP Joel Embiid, who committed to USA Basketball in October, is another virtual lock to make the final 12-man roster. Trying to pick just 12 players out of that impressive pool of options is no small feat, but a few players seem like safe bets if they are healthy. Having at least two reliable centers makes sense, and both Anthony Davis and Bam Adebayo are excellent options behind Embiid. Will Team USA carry three centers on a 12-man roster though? That will be one of the tough decisions. Curry will undoubtedly be brought aboard at one of the guard spots and James and Durant will handle two of the roster spots on the wing. It will get extremely competitive on the roster after that. ...
