Lakers' LeBron James moves into 10th place on team's loaded all-time scoring list

LeBron James reached yet another milestone in his storied career on Wednesday when he moved into 10th place on the Los Angeles Lakers ' all-time scoring list during the team's 131-119 loss to the Utah Jazz . James has now scored 10,603 points in a Lakers uniform.  The moment for James came late in the third quarter when he cut to the basket, took a pass from Austin Reaves , pump-faked to shake the defense and converted a lefty layup. Those two points put James past Jamaal Wilkes, who played for the Lakers from 1977-85 and was a part of title teams in 1980, 1982 and 1985. Wilkes' No. 52 was retired by the franchise in 2012.  James finished the night with 18 points, six rebounds and seven assists, but that was not enough as the Lakers suffered a surprise defeat to the lowly Jazz. The loss ended a six-game winning streak for the Lakers, who have won 12 of their last 15 to surge into fifth place in the Western Conference.  They'll now be off until Feb. 19, whe...

Lakers' LeBron James Has Great Response to Sharing Record With Michael Jordan

On Thursday, while guiding his Los Angeles Lakers to a 120-112 home victory against the Golden State Warriors (before either team can add its new All-NBA trade acquisition), 21-time All-Star L.A. power forward LeBron James reached some rare air. James became the second player in league history to ever score 40 or more points at the age of 40. He finished with a whopping 42 points on 14-of-25 shooting from the field (6-of-9 from 3-point land) and 8-of-10 shooting from the foul line, 17 rebounds, eight assists, one steal and a block. More Lakers: LeBron James Reacts to Lakers' Massive Trade to Land New Starting Center Mark Williams He was absolutely red-hot from long range. James made as many triples on the night as 11-time All-Star Warriors point guard Stephen Curry — despite taking 11 fewer attempts! James went 4-of-4 from deep to kick off the night, capped by this logo heave. After flailing, badly, as a 3-point shooter in 2022-23, when he made just 32.1 percent of...

Video: Myles Garrett Explains Browns Trade Request and LeBron James' Impact

Cindy Ord/Getty Images for SiriusXM Myles Garrett has already spoken in depth about his desire to be traded from the Cleveland Browns this offseason, citing a desire to compete for championships, and has previously mentioned consulting LeBron James on the decision. On Sunday, he spoke again on those topics during an appearance on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown: Garrett made his trade request public this week: Whether the Browns are inclined to grant that request is another topic entirely. At the Senior Bowl in January, general manager Andrew Berry told reporters the team would not be interested in dealing Garrett, even if the return was a pair of first-round picks. He also told reporters at the end of the season that, "I think you can assume that we do anticipate at some point doing a third contract with Myles. We want him to retire here." And ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi reported that "multiple team sources told ESP...

LeBron James becomes both oldest and youngest player to score 40 points in NBA history

LeBron James is in his 40s. At some point, that's going to matter. But not now. The Los Angeles Lakers star recorded 42 points, 17 rebounds and eight assists on Thursday in a 120-112 win over the Golden State Warriors , making him the oldest player in NBA history to score 40 points, while also being the youngest to do so. The only other player to score 40 at 40: Michael Jordan, the object of James' endless comparison. James' performance included 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range, including a stretch of three straight 3-pointers that ended with him pulling up from the logo. The game was between two teams in a state of transition. The Lakers are still waiting for Luka Dončić to fully recover from a calf stra in after shockingly trading Anthony Davis for him last weekend ( he's reportedly targeting Monday for his Lakers debut ), while the Warriors just acquired Jimmy Butler in one more shake-up of Stephen Curry's supporting cast. Curry joined James in recording ...

How the Golden State Warriors Can Actually Trade for Both Kevin Durant, LeBron James

Kevin DurantAlika Jenner/Getty Images On the same day Fischer's report dropped, ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel wrote that Golden State had already called Phoenix about possible Durant deals, but that the idea "was quickly turned down by the Suns." That's understandable, but for the sake of argument, let's talk about what the Warriors might offer while retaining enough salary and assets to turn around and chase LeBron, too. Of the two superstars, 36-year-old Durant likely has a little more trade value, so we'll have multiple members of Golden State's young core headed to Phoenix. The headliners there would be Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski. Then, you'd need salary filler to get to enough outgoing money to take Durant's $51.1 million back. Enter Andrew Wiggins and Dennis Schröder (who isn't eligible to be aggregated with other Warriors until Wednesday). Finally, since the money doesn't quite...

Lakers' LeBron James: I Originally Thought Luka Dončić, Davis Trade Was a 'Hoax'

Adam Pantozzi/NBAE via Getty Images Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James revealed Tuesday that he, like many basketball fans across the world, initially thought news of the Lakers trading Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Dončić was fake. While addressing the media Tuesday night, LeBron talked about his feelings on the deal when he initially heard it on Saturday night and when he finally realized it actually happened: "The first time I heard it I thought it was for sure fake. I thought it was a hoax, people messing around, whatever. But then AD called me, AD FaceTimed me, and I talked to him for quite a while. Even when I got off the phone with him it still didn't seem real. It still pretty much didn't seem real until I saw Luka today and then I saw a clip of AD at the Dallas shootaround. That's when it finally hit me like, 'Oh s--t, this is real.'" Shockingly, the trade was indeed real, as the Lakers sen...
