With 205 countries competing in the London 2012 Olympics and the letter "U" closer to the rear of the alphabet, it took some time for the United States delegation to make its way into the Olympic stadium during the Opening Ceremony (and it took even longer if you were waiting for NBC to show it). But at long last, two-time gold medalist fencer Mariel Zagunis led Team USA in the "Parade of Nations" as the flag-bearer.

Wearing their berets, blue blazers and white pants/skirts (made in China), members of the U.S. team were all smiles in London. Seemingly as awestruck as the audience, many of the American athletes were so fascinated with the spectacle around them that they couldn't help but pull out their iPhones to take photos of their own.
