MIAMIâ"
Q. Ira, I remember 2006 quite clearly and how it fell apart (even before they tanked for their lottery pick). How can Erik Spoelstra be so sure this time it doesn't fall apart again after a championship? -- Leslie, Parkland.
A: He can't be totally sure, but there is a huge difference this time around: In 2006, Antoine Walker, Gary Payton and several others on that roster were playing to win a single championship. They got it and then they grew satisfied. LeBron James isn't playing for just one championship, neither is Chris Bosh. And Dwyane Wade knows three will feel even better than two. These are different players, different personalities and different visions. To many on this roster, last season was just an appetizer.
Q: Ira, as the roster is constituted now, and assuming full health, it seems as if Udonis Haslem would need to get his minutes at center next season. -- Jose, Hialeah.
A: But in Spoelstra's "position-less" universe, if Udonis plays alongside Bosh, which would you define as the center? But you are correct, that even with the Heat's abundance of wings, there will be plenty of Haslem-Bosh along the way.
Q: Ira, my wife and I are big Heat fans. We're looking for the U.S. Olympic games and can't finding them. Can you please tell us when we can see the Olympic games on TV? -- Ed.
A: The games are being carried by the NBC Sports Network, the network formerly known as Versus. Unfortunately, not all systems carry it. The games can also be found online at NBCSports.com if you have the right carrier codes.
