During the release of the Nike LeBron X "Gold Medal" last week, Nike held a special raffle for a limited edition version of the packaging. Instead of the black Nike+ box that most people have already seen, this would be a tribute to Team USA Basketball successful gold medal campaign. With "United We Rise" spelled out in gold on the shoe, the rare box was limited to only eight in the world.
Kenlu has posted images of the package Tuesday, which features the same shoe essentially but with the white box with metallic gold lettering and LeBron's image inside. The box is slightly wider than the typical Nike Basketball box because it also includes the Nike+ sensors, but other than that, it really is just a fancy box.
And if anybody is interested in the fancy box and cannot wait for a more wider release of the "Gold Medal," Soleland has acquired a pair of the shoes in size 12 and has put it up for auction on eBay.
Those sneaker heads with a slightly longer memory will remember Nike put together a similar package last year for the Nike LeBron 9, although the aesthetics for that package was a lot more ostentatious and had a few bonuses along with it.
