When youâve impressed the leagueâs reigning MVP, Finals MVP, NBA champion and gold medal winner, youâve obviously done something thatâs worth mentioning on a national spectacle.
Thatâs exactly what Indiana Pacers guard Paul George did to make LeBron James sent out a tweet reading:
âThe homie @King24George got crazy bounce. Just saw him reverse 360 b/t the legs windmill at the Nike FOS in Shanghai. No warmup #sickâ
Thereâs no doubt that Paul George can dunk. He earned himself a trip to the 2012 dunk contest, but would fail to make it to the final round. However, thereâs not much worth bragging about winning a dunk contest; with the fans voting and the lack of creativity in the dunks themselves, itâs causing another ripple around the league that they should scrap the contest for a few years.
While George may not show out in the dunk contest, heâs still shown how incredible of a leaper he is at 6â10â³ on plenty of occasions, including the dunk he completed that would make LeBron James croon about. Basically, this is similar to Kanye West or Jay-Z telling their listeners that they heard another artist worth listening to.
LeBron commands that sort of attention. If he says itâs good, then itâs most likely going to be good.
You be the judge.
George starts off with a standard 360 windmill to get the crowd a little antsy, but does his best to quiet them down; because we havenât even seen the best of what was to come. Following a few seconds worth of intermission, George takes a few steps, lifts off, and somehow manages to stay in the air long enough to put the ball between the legs and throw it downâ"all while doing a windmill at the same time.
Needless to say, the difficult is extremely high. The only question you would have is, âWhere was this during the dunk contest?â
Geroge will be entering his third year with an Indiana Pacers team that is looking to contend for a spot in the Finals. They took the Heat to six games, taking as much advantage as they could against a Bosh-less Miami team. George will most likely continue to be the starting shooting guard for the Pacers, but he will find himself sharing more time at the two with the recently acquired Gerald Green.
