LeBron James Has Played Against 35% Of NBA Players Throughout League History

LeBron James playing at a high level for 21 seasons is remarkable enough, but the 39-year-old superstar continues to rack up unprecedented achievements. Fans recently learned that the four-time MVP has played against 35% of all NBA players throughout the league's history.

The statistic appeared on-screen during the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night (Jan. 17). The league was founded in 1946, 38 years before King James was born, which makes this statistic all the more eye-opening.

This stat yielded reactions from several fans over the internet. "How is this real?? Can this be real??" one fan asked. "This is the most insane sports stat of all time," another user said. "This sounds impossible… what a ridiculously cool and interesting thing," one final fan said.

The Los Angeles Lakers went on to defeat the Dallas Mavericks 127-110. D'Angelo Russell led the way with 29 points and knocked down five three-pointers out of seven attempts. Anthony Davis added 28 points, and 12 rebounds, and was one assist shy of a triple-double. LeBron James contributed 25 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, and shot 42% from the three-point line.

The Lakers have won their last two games and are looking to reverse their fortunes after losing six of their last 10. They currently sit at the 10th spot in the Western Conference, which would warrant them needing to win two games if they maintain that position when it's time for the Play-In Tournament.

Despite their struggles, James continues to make history. In December, he became the first Laker since the late Kobe Bryant to record at least 20, points, 10 assists, and five steals in one game. This performance also made him the oldest active player to secure five steals since they began documenting steals during the 1973-1974 NBA season.
