Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is excited to see Dwyane Wade's Miami Heat career honored with a statue outside Kaseya Center.

James shared the Heat's announcement of the statue on his Instagram story on Thursday night.

The Heat are unveiling the statue of Wade on Sunday, Oct. 27, before celebrating the honor with a "statue night" during a game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, Oct. 28.

After being drafted by the Heat with the No. 5 pick in 2003, Wade was named Finals MVP when he helped bring the franchise's first title to Miami in 2006.

James and Wade were later teammates for four seasons with the Heat, helping the team reach four NBA Finals and win back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013.

Following brief stints with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers, Wade returned to the Heat before retiring following the 2018-19 season as a career 22.0 point-per-game player.

His jersey was retired by the Heat in 2020, an accomplishment James celebrated with a video tribute to his former teammate.

There's a chance James could attend the unveiling of the statue, which takes place between Los Angeles games this fall, although the timing would be tight. He and the Lakers are scheduled to be in Phoenix for a road game against the Suns the following night.
