The Los Angeles Lakers parted ways with Darvin Ham following their first-round playoff elimination by the Denver Nuggets last year. After Ham made history as the Milwaukee Bucks' assistant coach, Ham shared his frustration with LeBron James' team for not giving him enough recognition.

Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas weighed in on the situation, suggesting that Ham and LeBron James were destined to fail as a duo. Speaking on his podcast, "Gil's Arena," Arenas attributed the struggles to the unique challenges of coaching a player as intelligent and experienced as LeBron.

"We're just going to be honest; your star player's probably smarter than you, right? And the fact that your star player is smarter than you, that's a hard job to have. Like, you literally have to talk to LeBron's ego. Like, I got to talk to his basketball. For him to accept you, it's like talking to some genius," Arenas said.

"What makes JJ smarter than Darvin Ham? Sitting there having a conversation with him. So that means something that JJ was saying resonated with, with, with, you know, it's just like art," he added.

The Los Angeles Lakers secured back-to-back wins over the Sacramento Kings, with their latest victory coming on Sunday. Following the game, LeBron James shared that their improved defense was the key factor behind the team's recent success during the NBA regular season.

"We understand that in order for us to compete in every game and win games, we can't rely on offense all the time. We have to buckle down on defense. I don't know when that was, maybe six or seven games ago or whatever, when our defense was not so good," James said.

James scored 32 points, had seven rebounds, and had six assists in their latest win over the Kings. With the win, the Lakers improved to 16-12 in the season. Their next encounter is the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
