Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been listed as questionable ahead of their tough game against the Atlanta Hawks, one of the NBA's most in-form teams.
The 39-year-old played less than 30 minutes in Wednesday's hard-hitting 134-93 loss against the Miami Heat at Kaseya Center.
Such a poor result sees them sit ninth in the league with a drab 12-10 record so far, which led to James recently commenting that it has indeed been "bad at times" for the players under new management.
"I think it was kind of expected" James also said, adding that "it is what it is. Our record is our record, but we just want to keep getting better on both ends of the floor because the West is tough, and we know that".
What injury does LeBron James have?Left foot soreness is the cause that the Lakers have given for his listing on the official injury report, which must be submitted by all teams before every game in the competition.
James, who has appeared in all 22 of his side's games so far this season, said at the start of the campaign that his goal was to have a 100% appearance record, meaning he is in a race against time to get fit before tip-off against a Hawks side that have won their fifth straight game to match their longest hot streak since January 2023.
Reaction to the injury has been mixed, with plenty of fans glad that James is finally getting some rest while others were seemingly annoyed at an apparent stubbornness from the NBA legend to want to feature in every game despite turning 40 soon.
