LeBron James is getting a new version of his signature shoe to celebrate a historic milestone.
After becoming the only player in NBA history to reach the 40,000-point mark, James will rock the "Uncharted" LeBron 23 by Nike. The shoes feature a crown-like design to commemorate the "Forever King" campaign by Nike.
In addition to the "Uncharted" colorway, Nike is also unveiling a handful of different versions of the LeBron 23 to celebrate "legacy-defining stories." The "Miami Twice" colorway will celebrate James' back-to-back rings with the Miami Heat, while "The Chosen One and the One Who Chose" will honor James teaming up with his son, Bronny.
James became the NBA's all-time leading scorer in 2023 when he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 38,387 points. He later reached the 40,000 mark and is still adding to his record. Last season, James became the first player with 50,000 total points, counting both his regular-season and playoff scoring.
If James were to get a custom shoe for all of his accomplishments, he'd have a pair for all 82 regular-season games and more. For now, he'll start the year with three new colorways.
