Luka Doncic says JJ Redick was right to challenge him and LeBron James on defensive endLuka Doncic spoke to reporters ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Utah Jazz and addressed the recent meeting he had with JJ Redick.
Redick asked LeBron James and Luka Doncic to lead the team on the defensive end, and Doncic agreed that as the two star players, they must do exactly what Redick asked of them.

We talked about a lot – not just that. But he was right. You've got to get a little bit more, especially from the star players. So that's on us, that's on me.
"We just gotta give more, especially to start the game. We gotta start the game better. I think in Phoenix, we did a pretty good job. The plan was to focus on ourselves and our defensive mentality. I think we did a pretty good job."
Luka Doncic has made a lot of effort on the defensive endDefense has never really been the calling card for Luka Doncic. The point guard has struggled on the defensive end, especially during the last few years of his tenure with the Dallas Mavericks.
After the discourse surrounding Doncic's fitness became a talking point after he got traded to the LA Lakers, the superstar made it a point to work on his game this summer.
The work clearly paid off, as Doncic was Slovenia's best defender at EuroBasket this summer, while also putting up excellent numbers.
If LeBron James, who turns 41 in a few weeks' time, can also replicate the same level of effort on the defensive end, it will inspire the rest of the LA Lakers squad to give it their all on the defensive end.
