LeBron James Draws Comparison to NFL Legend Randy Moss in Surprise Luka Doncic Verdict

James was asked about his on-court connection with his teammate in a locker room interview, and he broke it down in football terms.

"One of the best quarterbacks and I'm a pretty good receiver," James said. "It's my job to not allow defense break up or steal a ball. He put it all time on target and made it all easy for me."

Later, a reporter asked LeBron James about drawing inspiration from NFL legend Randy Moss in catching full-court passes from Doncic.

"Yeah for sure," James said. "I mean I watched him a lot while growing up and he did that a lot and actually when I played football, I kind of took that trait from him and brough it to the game of basketball."

LeBron James and Luka Doncic look like they have found a suitable rhythm to play off each other. This is the third time they have both scored over 30 points in a single game. They did it twice before in March, after Doncic joined the Lakers in a blockbuster trade.

Earlier in the locker room interview, a reporter asked James for his thoughts on the help he received from his teammates in securing the win for his team. The Lakers superstar credited Jake LaRavia and Marcus Smart for their contributions in the win. (Timestamp: 0:30)

"It started with Jake, he was locked in from the beginning. Marcus on both end of the floor, taking the challenge and guarding Ja [Morant] but then, him just rebounding the ball, sharing the ball and scoring the ball as well," James said. "Those two guys set the tone for us that we needed."

Jake LaRavia finsihed the game with 21 points, nine rebounds and two assists, while Marcus Smart finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
