NBA Releases Official Ruling on LeBron James’ Disputed Non-Call

The NBA has released its official ruling on a disputed non-call involving LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. James even shared his disbelief and disappointment on a social media post.

According to the league's L2M Report for the Bucks-Lakers game, Giannis Antetokounmpo cleanly blocked James with around 40 seconds left in the fourth quarter. It was deemed a correct non-call by the officials because The Greek Freak made legal contact on the ball.

Before the release of the report, James posted a story on his Instagram. It was a cropped image of his layup attempt against the Bucks.

While Antetokounmpo got the ball cleanly, Myles Turner made contact with James' arm during the play, which wasn't included in the report. King King even expressed his frustration with a facepalm emoji.

However, some eagle-eyed fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, countered the Lakers superstar with the full photo of the layup attempt. James' hand hit Turner's face, which could have easily bee n called an offensive foul.

Bucks Scored After Non-Call on LeBron

After Giannis Antetokounmpo blocked LeBron James in that disputed non-call, the Milwaukee Bucks took advantage in the next possession. Kevin Porter Jr. got the ball in his hands and took on Luka Doncic one-on-one.

Porter got Luka to contest his 3-point shot, leading to a foul call after Doncic made contact, which was ruled as a correct call by the NBA's L2M report. The lefty guard made two of his three free throws to give the Bucks a 103-101 lead with 16.2 seconds remaining.

It was also Doncic's sixth personal foul, so he was out of the game for the next possession. James had the opportunity to tie or get the win, choosing to attack the basket with around five seconds left.

However, Antetokounmpo was there once again to make a stop, poking the ball out of James' hands from the back. Porter recovered the ball and was immediately fouled by Jarred Vanderbilt with less than a second to go. He would make both free throws to seal the 105-101 win.

Giannis Receives Gift From LeBron

Speaking to reporters after the game, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had 21 points against the Lakers, revealed th at LeBron James had a gift for him after the game.

Despite the frustration of losing after a near triple-double effort, James gave Antetokounmpo a signed jersey as a show of respect and appreciation.

"It means a lot to me. I got his jersey tonight. I think he is the blueprint for every athlete, not just basketball athletes, on how to be consistent. To be consistent for 23 years, to be available, to be a winner, to lead by example. It is incredible for me to be around greatness, and I will never take it for granted. I have the utmost respect for him and his family and the way he has carried himself for 22 years," Antetokounmpo said, via Lakers Nation.

James had a similar message about playing against Antetokounmpo. At age 41 and in Year 23, it's all about enjoying the matchups w ith some of the greatest players the game has ever seen.
