When the Los Angeles Lakers visited the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, all eyes were on the Lakers to rebound after losing three straight games. Los Angeles delivered a much-needed boost with a 129-101 victory in San Francisco, snapping its skid behind strong performances from LeBron James (22 points, nine assists, seven rebounds) and the rest of the roster.
It was also an extra-special night for James, as i t marked his first father-daughter road trip with his 11-year-old daughter, Zhuri, who joined him in the Bay Area.

While the victory provided much relief for the Lakers, it was James' daughter who stole the spotlight following a viral moment on the court. A clip shared by the official NBA account showed Zhuri sinking a trick shot and even tossing an alley-oop to her father during warmups.

"She's a volleyball player; don't get my wife mad," James said. "My wife is done with this basketball stuff. She's done with it. She's a volleyball player. … She does got good handles and good form too. But my wife ain't playing that. Not another one. She says that's it."
On Sunday, Savannah James seemingly confirmed her stance and responded to James' comments with her own Instagram story. She shared a clip of Zhuri at one of her volleyball games, captioning it: "Yeah, it's a no. We'll be over here 🏐✨."

LeBron and Savannah Ja mes have three children together: Bronny James, who is in his second NBA season with the Lakers after being selected 55th overall in the 2024 draft, and Bryce James, who plays college basketball with the Arizona Wildcats, as well as Zhuri, whose athletic focus appears to be volleyball.
While Zhuri may have flashed her basketball potential, Savannah James' recent message makes it clear that her daughter's priority is on the volleyball court.
The Lakers, who recorded another victory by beating the Sacramento Kings 128-104 behind James' 24 points on Sunday night, will host the New Orleans Pelicans at 10:30 p.m. ET Tuesday.
